Earn Your Master of Music in Film Scoring with Berklee:
Berklee Online’s Master of Music in Film Scoring program will empower you with the skills and confidence to compose music to match any visual presentation that a filmmaker provides. You’ll develop your own unique compositional voice through a number of unique opportunities like working with live orchestras to bring your scores to life, and creating realistic-sounding MIDI sequences using professional-level sample libraries. You’ll focus on maximizing your relationship with directors and producers, and work hands-on with student filmmakers to gain experience collaborating directly with clients. And, perhaps most importantly, through this program you’ll build your demo reel with recordings of exceedingly high production value, which will be suitable for use as promotional material. Like all Berklee Online offerings, this program grants you the freedom to study on your own time, easily fitting into your schedule around any personal or professional commitments. You will be able to earn your Master of Music in Film Scoring within one year, if you complete 12 courses at the recommended pace of three courses per semester over four 12-week semesters.

About Alison Plante:
Alison Plante is the director of Berklee Online’s Film Scoring master’s program. Formerly chair of the undergraduate Film Scoring program at Berklee College of Music, she was the first female chair of a collegiate Film Scoring department. Alison is an award-winning composer whose scoring credits range from documentaries for PBS and the History Channel to national television ads, independent films, multimedia museum exhibits, and live theater. She is also the founder of her scoring business, Treble Cove Music.

About Sean McMahon:
Sean McMahon is the chair of the Film Scoring department at Berklee College of Music. He is a composer and an orchestrator whose credits include “Spider-Man 3,” “Bridge to Terabithia,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” and more. He has also scored a number of video games, including “Jump Dewds!” and “Strata.”
